Le chapeau panama : son histoire
Les chapeaux panama sont des chapeaux réalisés en fibres végétales. Malgré son nom, il n’est pas d’origine panamienne mais équatorienne.
De plus, contrairement aux idées reçues, le Panama n’est pas une forme de chapeau. En effet, c’est une matière composée d’un tissage à la main de jeunes pousses de palmiers d’Équateur. Dès lors, un chapeau trilby, un chapeau fedora ou encore un chapeau capeline pourrait très bien être considéré comme un chapeau panama !
C’est Théodore Roosevelt qui contribuera à le populariser en le portant lors de sa visite aux chantiers du canal de Panama en 1906. Ce chapeau est devenu ensuite un accessoire incontournable à porter sans modération les jours de soleil.

Packaging
First of all, Fabienne Delvigne carefully wraps the hats in tissue paper. They are then placed in a black hat box signed Fabienne Delvigne. These boxes are made to measure for the House.
Then we place a certificate of authenticity next to the hat. Finally, we delicately perfume it with Eau de Cashmere by Guerlain. This reminds us of a beautiful collaboration between our two Maisons.
