The trilby hat: its history
Cousin of the fedora, the trilby is first of all a hat which takes its name from the novel Trilby by George du Maurier. It is in fact a small hat with a small brim, generally lowered at the front. Its cap is pinched at the front.
Therefore, the trilby can be made of any material. In summer, for example, it can be made of parasisal straw, panama or even panabuntal, a very fine and qualitative material. In winter, it can be made of felt. Thus, rain-resistant and of excellent quality, velvet and melusine felts will always be favoured by the House of Fabienne Delvigne.
