Details of the felt cloche hat
This felt cloche hat is available with a choice of trimmings. The Josephine cloche hat comes with a matching speckled veil but it is also possible to have it without a veil. It can be made with a nicely affixed bow or with a simple grosgrain ribbon if you prefer sobriety.
The material of this hat is velvet felt, an exceptional quality, soft to the touch and waterproof.
Velvet felt is, like cashmere for a jumper, soft to the touch. Flattering to the face thanks to its velvety appearance that reflects on the face, and really light, especially if you work it with care and lightness as our Maison does. Moreover, this soft material is waterproof.
The history of the bellhat
The cloche, also known as a cloche hat, is a headgear with a folded brim that first originated during the Roaring Twenties. These little hats wrap around the head and emphasize the look of the ladies. In addition, this cloche hat can be made of any material. In summer, for example, they can be made of straw, like the panama, the parasisal or even the parabuntal, the most beautiful of materials. For winter, they can be made of felt. Velvet felt and melusine felt are preferred by Fabienne Delvigne because she wants to offer the most beautiful materials to her customers. This material is also waterproof and will allow you to wear it even on rainy days.

Packaging
Firstly, Maison Fabienne Delvigne carefully wraps the hats in tissue paper. Then places them in a black hat box designed by Fabienne Delvigne, boxes that are tailor made for our Maison. Then, we place a certificate of authenticity next to the hat. Finally, we delicately perfume the hat with Guerlain’s “Eau de Cashmere”. A reminiscence of the beautiful collaboration between our two Maisons.
