Anahit is a boater hat made from velvet felt a fabric of exceptional quality. Velvet felt is the cashmere of the hat world. While it is soft, it is also rainproof and flattering to the face. The Story of the Boater Hat
The boater hat is an oval-shaped straw hat, with a flat cap bottom and brim. “Boater hat” firstly heard in the 19e century. It was a crucial part of the summer uniform of sailors: the “canotiers”. They loaded the ships with food, commodities and other products. Later on, the boater hat became popular amongst high society. It was custom for them to dress their children as little sailors. Then, Maurice Chevalier gave the boater hat his letters of nobility. He wore the boater hat so often that it became an integral part of his character.
Our Packaging
First, Maison Fabienne Delvigne carefully wraps the hats in tissue paper. Then, we place them in a black Fabienne Delvigne hat box. These boxes are custom-made for the Maison. Next, we place a certificate of authenticity next to the hat. Finally, we delicately perfume with Eau de Cashmere by Guerlain. A souvenir of a wonderful collaboration between our two Houses.
